Wedding of the Year by Norman Robbins

Alison, bespectacled and overweight, is not the kind of girl one would visualise as a heroine, but Uncle Frank decides to make her one by entering her in theWedding of the Yearcompetition, selecting a wedding dress designer before he has found her a suitable husband.

His eye alights on Walter, a frustrated inventor and an appallingly clumsy young man.

But the best laid plans . . . 
 

The Play's Director, David Blakeley, comments;  “ I think this piece has wide audience appeal as the humour is clean and wholesome stemming from a story which provides an opportunity for the actors to show off their comedy talents. The cast includes two newcomers, Rose Squires and Paul Jones, as well as STAP’s stalwarts, David Smith and Chris Webb and if the laughter being generated in rehearsals is any guide, audiences are in for a treat “
