TrueWest teams up with two of Cornwall's finest theatre companies Cube and Bedlam to bring you..... MEDUSA THE CELT.

Writer-director Nick Whitby’s plays have been performed in over twenty major theatres internationally, including on Broadway, in Chicago, Berlin, Madrid and Vienna and at the Donmar in London (directed by Oscar-winner Sam Mendes).  He has also written extensively for television, including for Channel 4’s Emmy-award winning Smack the Pony. In 2009 he co-wrote/directed The Charity Shop Cabaret with Trifle Gathering, that has since toured nationally and will be appearing at the Edinburgh Festival this summer.

Medusa the Celt is a journey into the myth of The Gorgon - whose face turned all who looked at her to stone. A story about the true history of the Celts, within the Celtic landscape of Cornwall. Revealing an amazing secret about the people of Cornwall ...... one that will change your view of the past, and also perhaps of the present.

The beautiful grounds at Trereife are an ideal setting for this mysterious tale with the performance taking place on the old tennis court with the house framed in the background and with the ancient and atmospheric woodland alongside.

The Poets Café in the old cobbled courtyard at Trereife will be serving pre-theatre light suppers and delicious homemade cakes with a 10% discount for theatregoers or do bring a picnic with rugs and chairs to enjoy al fresco dining before the performance.  Although this is an outdoor performance there will be cover if the weather doesn’t oblige!
