The Works - MATCH FUNDING SUPPORT

MATCH FUNDING SUPPORT

The Works recognises that lack of match-funding can be a barrier to achieving project funding.  In response to this, we are  allocating some funding to address this problem.  The purpose of our Match Funding Support is to help artists unlock other funds, and it is not intended to be the only income for your project.

The Works hopes that by supporting a project with hard cash, we make explicit our confidence in the work and that this will then help to unlock the funding necessary to make it happen.

In order for this money to be most effective, we want to encourage applications at an early stage so that, if we want to support the project, our commitment is confirmed before further funding bids are made.  This will, we hope strengthen bids being made to other potential funders.

Our Match Funding support is limited, so it is unlikely that we will be able to help everybody.  Applications can be made to The Works in writing at any time of the year, but please remember that once it’s gone, it’s gone!

Artists can apply for up to £300 from The Works provided the following criteria can be met:

Criteria

  • The application is not retrospective

  • The match funding will form part of a bid aimed to achieve substantial funding from other sources

  • The company or artist(s)applying must be based in Cornwall.

Conditions

  • The match funding can only be treated as confirmed income if The Works has approved it in writing.

  • Once we have agreed to offer funding, payment will only be made once the full funding package has been achieved.
