Live Dates: Deadline is 24th February
Farnham Maltings and Arts Partnership Surrey in association with Take Art are looking tocommission and present an initial tour of a new performance piece for under 5s.
The commission is for £30,000 - paid in 4 installments – when awarded, at the start of therehearsal process, at the start and at the end of the tour.
This is to cover all the associated costsof development, producing and an initial three week ‘tour’ of Surrey and Somerset of the finishedwork.
It may be that the successful company brings their own additional resources or supplements this award with a G4A award or other funding.
In addition the commissioners will offer, where possible, contacts, advice, specialist intelligence, equipment, producing expertise, rehearsal space, etc.Ideally we would like the commission delivered in autumn 2012 or spring 2013 - there is apotential opportunity to present within KinderGardens in Somerset of November 2012.
The commission assumes eight days of performance in Surrey and four in Somerset which will bebooked and organised by the commissioning partners. We have an aspiration to deliver the final piece through the Children’s Centre network but have noview on the form, content, presentation or length of the finished piece.
We hope the project will inspire professional development opportunities for early year’s artists, practitioners and carers. The finished piece will be credited in this initial tour and any further performances as having been commissioned by Farnham Maltings and Arts Partnership Surrey in association with Take Art.
This commission is open to everyone. We are interested to hear from individual artists, newcollaborations, established and new organisations.
