If you would like to make your classes and group more accessible, wish you would feel more confident about delivering dance with disabled people or simply update your knowledge of best practice, this your chance to train with Candoco, the renowned Contemporary Dance Company of disabled and non-disabled dancers.
Candoco Dance Company is coming back to Lighthouse Poole’s Centre for the Arts with their new show ‘Renditions’- a triple bill performed by seven disabled and non-disabled dancers and choreographed by three internationally established dance-makers, Wendy Houstoun, Emanuel Gat and Sarah Michelson.
During October half term, Candoco will deliver their teacher training Intensive from Monday 25th to Wednesday 27th October 2010 at Poole High School.

The 3-day Intensive, delivered by 2 artists from Candoco Dance Company, will introduce teachers and practitioners to the principles of Candoco’s inclusive work. It will focus on the fundamentals of your own teaching practice, adaptation and technique, use of language, inclusive environments and the social model of disability.

The course will be held at Poole High School, Wimborne Road, Poole, Dorset, BH15 2BW and the full costs are £125. Each Day will start at 10.30 am and finish at 5pm. Participants must be able to commit to attending all three days. This course is usually oversubscribed so please make sure you book early as places are limited. Participants who wish so will also have the opportunity to observe Candoco delivering a workshop with young people that will take place at Poole High on Thursday 28th October.
