REMINDER – Temporary suspension to Grants for the arts applications
As previously announced, Arts Council England will suspend applications to its Grants for the arts programme for a period of six weeks between Monday 18 January and Friday 26 February.
This means that applications need to be submitted by 5pm on Friday 15 January to ensure decisions are made before the end of March.
Stage: New writing in subsidised theatre trebles over a decade
Subsidised theatre is hosting more than three times as much new writing as it was a decade ago, according to new research. According to the report, commissioned by Arts Council England and undertaken by the British Theatre Consortium to explore the impact of ACE’s £25 million funding boost for theatre in 2003, new work now makes up 47% of the repertoire in large subsidised theatres.
