From my very early years i have been saturated by the world of the arts, and it seemed only natural that i wished to take it on as a career. I have now been working for Actiontrack since i was 16, directing, cheorgraphing, writing and in some cases designing the set and teaching music.
I studied at Somerset College of Performing arts, where my toolbox began to fill rapidly with all sorts techniques i could use and wanted to learn more about. My time at Dartington College of Arts was short, but i did get knowledge from there to add to my kit! I jumped straight into work from uni, and i still strive to study whenever i can.
Since leaving Uni i have been creating my own degree in whatever i wish! I still love to learn, and am forever keeping my toolbox topped up with things i find interesting and things that will improve my work as a practitioner. I have attended the LeCoq school in Paris for a week learning about Physical Comedy techniques, i then went on to do a week long intensive masterclass in clowning with Mick Barnfather. I find the idea of comedy extremely interesting. Why are things funny? How? Its opened a huge amount of doors in my head and i am following alot of this through. I have also taken masterclasses with Theatre Ad Infinitum, a company i hugely admire and have respect greatly. I have been lucky enough to attend two of thier masterclasses, 'Story Telling of the Body' which taught us different techniques in how to use our body to tell tales. I have always been a believer in what lies behind words, and this class strengthened my knowledge and body in expressing myself without text. I also took a class called 'Devising through Improvisation' which was exactly what it said on the tin! Learning about forming a space, entering it and also alot about timing too.
Film is also a huge passion if mine after attending workshops with Forkbeard Fantasy. Since then i have taken up animation and editing in my spare time. I love to collabourate film with anything really! Its a very interesting medium to use and the possibities are endless, especially when it comes to animation.
My interests are never ending and diverse, also forever growing. My passion comes through when i teach, passing knowledge along to others is so important, what use is it to keep it to yourself!
