Kidz R Us was founded in 1994 and is now based in its own 320 seat theatre (a converted Wesleyan chapel) in St Ives in Cornwall.  Our organisation exists to encourage the participation of young people, regardless of their background, in the performing arts both for their own personal development, and for the benefit of the wider community. We also seek to be a self-sustaining social enterprise, providing much needed, accessible, year round entertainment for the residents and visitors to St Ives and the surrounding district.

Kidz R Us has been run successfully for 14 years by a team of up to 90 volunteers who take on professional theatrical roles on a voluntary basis. We currently produce at least three large-scale shows a year, and a small number of concerts. These involve over 100 young people in singing, dance and drama and more recently in technical backstage roles. All our shows are produced to an extremely high standard and we pride ourselves on our production values which rival any commercial theatre company. However we would like to reach out to a wider community and be a resource for people interested in any aspect of work involved in theatre and are constantly seeking people to join our backstage production departments as volunteers or on placements.
